Kuch Toh Log Kahenge is a Hindi TV serial on Sony Entertainment Television Asia. The serial is based on the Pakistani TV drama Dhoop Kinare. Kuch Toh Log Kahenge is a love story between two people who have a substantial age gap.


Story

This is the bittersweet and heartwarming love story between two people who not only are from completely different generations but, aside from having a 18-years age gap between them, are completely different in terms of personality and their outlooks on life.


Dr. Ashutosh, a 42 years old, handsome, serious, no-nonsense kind of man, has built his life around his career as a doctor, and has left no room for relationships of any kind after his adoptive father passed away. Dr. Nidhi Verma is a 24 years old beautiful, vivacious and bubbly young woman, who looks upon life with a sense of humor that radiates around to everyone she comes across, especially affecting Ashutosh in a way no one has ever affected him before.
Now, what happens when Nidhi and Ashutosh unknowingly fall in love with each other without realizing their own feelings — oblivious to the mysterious past that somehow ties them together, yet threatens to haunt them and tear them apart?

Mohnish Bahl / Sharad Kelkar ... Dr. Ashutosh - Age 42

Male Protaganist. Dr. Ashutosh is a quiet & serious person whose life entirely revolves around his career as a doctor, the hospital and its patients, and nothing else. He is kind to all but does not share his thoughts or feelings with anyone. Though Dr. Mallika, whom he's been friends with for 12 years, is in love with him, Ashutosh is oblivious to her feelings and views her as only a friend. There is no romance in his life; he lives alone and is quite content, if not bothered, by his loneliness. Ashutosh bereaves the death of his foster father, who had played a very big role in his life. However, he has no idea that his father also had a daughter, and that she gave birth to a girl who lives somewhere in the same city.
In his will, Ashutosh's father leaves behind everything but the house to Ashutosh. The house he leaves to his granddaughter whom Ashutosh never met. Ashutosh, while reminiscing his encounters with his father, gathers the true meaning of his father's two-sided replies. Ashutosh expects a responsible and mature person to take over his father's home. From the time he meets Nidhi, he plans to educate her behavior, although he does not realize exactly what it is that attracts and pulls him to Nidhi so much. Later he comes to realize that he is in love with Nidhi.

Kritika Kamra ... Dr. Nidhi Verma - Age 24

Female Protaganist. Nidhi is a cheerful, bubbly doctor who brings joy and laughter to the mundane life at the hospital, its patients, and in the life of Ashutosh . Nidhi never wanted to be a doctor but is told that her dying grandfather and mother both wanted her to be one. A phone call that her father attends explains that she just inherited a house that belonged to her grandfather. Seeing that her father wants her to become a doctor to celebrate her dead mother's wishes, Nidhi comes in as an intern at Ashutosh's hospital. She wins over the patients and the hospital staff with her humor and kindness. She falls in love with Ashutosh. Under her family's pressure, she will agree to marry Rohan despite being in love with Ashutosh.

Rukhsar Rehman ... Dr. Mallika - Age 36

Dr. Mallika is in one sided love with Ashutosh. She hates Nidhi and wants to marry Dr. Ashutosh.

Karan Wahi... Rohan

Rohan is a cheerful and kind person who brings happiness to other people's life. He is a relative of Nidhi's DadiBua. He falls in one sided love with Nidhi, but when he comes to know that Nidhi has affections only for Ashutosh, he will be in a state of mind whether to help her or not.

Anji is Nidhi's best friend. Nidhi confides everything in Anji.
